Close customer collaboration
Your core responsibility in this role is to manage a number of key Samskip accounts. In doing so you sell our rail product within our multimodal services for temperature-controlled transport, the steel and construction market, quay-quay and terminal-terminal transports, and complex solutions. You are supported by specialist colleagues and you work closely with other departments such as IT.
At all times you aim to deepen the customer relationship with Samskip, based on our service proposition. You also act as the voice of your clients, adjusting our services in response to the real-time, first-hand information you receive from them. And of course, you constantly seek opportunities to add more accounts to our prestigious portfolio of international customers.
In order to achieve this you:
- Stimulate the account management process so we can maximize the offer of the value proposition or a separate offer;
- Negotiate and convert the proposition into a profitable agreement for both sides;
- Use Samskip’s systems to create clarity on actions planned concerning sales activities and delivery;
- Deploy the advanced use of social media in order to share information and drive engagement and new leads.

Do you hold the key to customer satisfaction?
This is a role for candidates with a natural talent for leadership and strong commercial, negotiation and presentational skills. It goes without saying that you are determined and result-oriented, and not afraid to say what you think when necessary. You also love to work in a cross-cultural and international environment. Beyond that, the more formal requirements are:
- You have completed your studies in a logistics or commercial business discipline;
- Solid knowledge and experience in the transport and logistics sector;
- Strong interpersonal skills including fluent verbal and written English;
- An understanding of how to use social media platforms in order to generate leads;
- A driving licence.
